Larne implode against Lincoln Red Imps to crash out of Conference League

Larne let slip a 2-0 first-leg aggregate lead to bow out of the UEFA Conference League as Manu Toledano’s last-gasp penalty sealed Lincoln Red Imps a 3-0 win on the night at Inver Park.

Northern Ireland Premiership champions Larne, 2-0 winners last week in Gibraltar, appeared set for a place in the league stage for the second time in three years before the Red Imps struck twice in the final eight minutes to force extra time.

Kike Gomez cut inside to fire a brilliant opening goal for the visitors in the 82nd minute and they levelled the tie three minutes later when Toledano powered home a header from a corner.

Larne were reduced to 10 men soon after when forward Montel Gibson was sent off for his second yellow card and Toledano converted from the spot in the first minute of time added on at the end of extra time after he had been fouled by Chris Gallagher.
